There are 8 committees in the Washington Chapter driven by dedicated volunteers to help us do great work in the internal medicine community.
Communication & Member Engagement
Maintain chapter communication plan, quarterly newsletter development and social media activity.
Health & Public Policy
Local advocacy and collaboration with WSMA, advocacy training, AIMn participation, and ACP Leadership Day coordination. Please see the HPPC Committee page under Advocacy for their full charge.
Membership & Diversity
Maintain recruitment and retention plan across the spectrum of membership (from trainees to Fellows), and institute ACP national recruitment and retention initiatives.
Education & Meetings
Support Annual Chapter Planning Sub-Committee, assist with planning of other educational events including Spring Scientific meeting and at least one other educational endeavor (can be done in collaboration with Council activities).
Plan periodic “Wellness” activities (can be incorporated into other activities including Annual Chapter Meeting) and collaborate with other organizations to promote physician wellness for internal medicine physicians and residents in the state.
Provide guidance, support, and inspiration for all student initiatives related to MSIG activities in the state.
Residents / Fellows
Provide guidance, support, and inspiration for all resident activities and initiatives in the state.
Oversee chapter awards and the nominations of chapter members for national awards and mastership.
